1. Fort Myers Aquatics - Why is the pool closed during inclement weather and what is your refund policy

Fort Myers aquatic facilities will close if heavy rain prevents lifeguards from seeing the bottom of the pool, or if lightning strikes within a 10-mile radius of the facility. The Fort Myers Aquatic Center, Golfview Pool, and S.T.A.R.S. Complex all use the Weatherbug system for real-time updates on weather conditions. The pool will remain closed for a ½ hour (30 minutes) following the last lightning strike. During this time, patrons are to remain off the pool deck. 

Fort Myers aquatic facilities will close for public swimming if the forecasted weather calls for temperatures of 70 degrees or below; or at the supervisor’s discretion.

The City of Fort Myers Aquatic Center gives rain checks during inclement weather to patrons who have been at the facility for less than one hour with a receipt.  No refunds are given due to inclement weather. 

2. Fort Myers Aquatics - Swim lessons for infant children and adults and what are the rates?

“Parent and Infant Swimming Lessons” are for children ages six months to three years old. All swimming lessons are eight classes.

“Youth Swimming Lessons” are for children ages four to twelve year old. 

Youth classes are divided into four levels, pre-school (ages 4-5), beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  Children enrolling in beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons are required to be swim tested to ensure proper placement into the appropriate level prior to registration.  There is no swim test for pre-school lessons.  All swimming lessons are eight classes.

“Adult Swimming Lessons” are for ages thirteen and older. Adult classes are divided into two levels: beginner and stroke refinement. All swimming lessons are eight classes.

Cost for all swimming lessons is $35 for residents of Fort Myers, and $40 for non-residents.

The City of Fort Myers also offers private swim lessons.  Each session is customized to the individual and is a 30-minute one on one session with a lifeguard.  Pricing for private swim lessons begin at $35, please call for more information on pricing and creating a customized lesson.

The STARS Complex offers SWIM Lessons each summer.  Lesson dates, times and rates are posted in March.

3. STARS Complex - What are your hours of operation?

Monday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; 

Saturday: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Pending event/athletic schedule); Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (pending event/athletic schedule)

Holidays: Closed

4. STARS Complex - What are your rental rates?

5. STARS Complex - Do you offer summer, winter, and spring break camps and what are their costs?

Summer Camp (9 weeks)

• This program is for children ages 6 through 14 years old. 
• There is a $15.00 Registration Fee.
• $200 per child for City resident (starting October 1st)
• $100 per child for City employees that are City residents (starting October 1st)
• $250 per child for non-resident (starting October 1st)
• $125 per child for City employee that are non-residents (starting October 1st)
• Hours of operation are 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday (Closed the 4th of July)

Winter Camp (2 weeks)

• This program is for children ages 6 through 14 years old
• $30 per child per week for City resident (starting October 1st) 
• $50 per child per week for non-resident (starting October 1st)
• Hours of operation are 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday (Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day)

Spring Camp (1 week)

• This program is for children ages 6 through 14 years old
• $30 per child per week (starting October 1st)
• $50 per child per week (starting October 1st)
• Hours of operation are 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday

6. STARS Complex - What information can you give me on your afterschool program?

This program is for children ages 6 through 14 years old  The cost for City Residents is as follows:  $50 per child per semester, $100 per school year.  The cost for non-City Residents is as follows:  $60 per child per semester, or $120 per school year (starting October 1st)

Hours of operation are 2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (general public allowed in after 6:00 p.m.). 

Children are in age appropriate monitored groups and activities include:  Homework assistance, Subject Matter Activities, Art, Music, and indoor/outdoor play activities.   Enrollment is based on 1st come 1st served space availability.  Must attend Parent meet prior to start of session.  Contact STARS@cityftmyers.com or (239) 321-7545 for more information.

7. Fort Myers Skatium - What are your hours of operation for open skating and the costs? What are the available time and rates for parties and private rentals?

Open skate:

• Fridays: 8:00 pm to 9:50 pm
• Saturdays: 1:00 pm to 2:50 pm
• Saturday Family Nights: 7:00 pm to 8:50 pm  
• Sundays: 11:00 am to 12:50 pm

$8 All Ages plus $2 for Skate Rental

Saturday Family Nights is $5 admission including skates.

Birthday packages

• “Starting Line Up” - $179 for 10 guests:  Each additional guest $12. Reserved party table with place settings and helium balloons next to the ice rink.     
• “Hat Trick” - $199 for 10 guests:  Each additional guest $12. Reserved private party room with place settings, helium balloons and party decorations. Professional skating instructor available for your group; $25.00 for 30 minutes of private instruction.  

Private Rentals

8. Golf - Are you accepting new memberships?

No, the City is not currently offering new golf memberships.

9. Golf - Do you rent golf clubs?

Yes, golf club rentals are available at both courses (Callaway Clubs for both right and left-handed players, men and women).

10. Golf - What par is Eastwood?

Eastwood plays to a par 72 layout.   Four sets of tee markers are used depending upon level of challenge preferred by the golfer.  

Blue tees are generally used for (HDCP 0-10) with 6772 yards; white tees are normally preferred for members and guests with 6226 yards; gold tees are preferred by most seniors at 5568 yards and ladies love the course at 5116 yards.

11. Golf - Do you offer golf lessons?

Yes, golf lessons are available at both courses with PGA certified instructors.

12. Golf - How far in advance may I schedule a tee time?

Tee times can be reserved online, up to 7 days in advance, at www.cityftmyers.com. Tee times may also be reserved one day in advance with phone lines opening at 8:00 AM.  Eastwood's phone number is 239-321-7487 and Fort Myers Country Club is 239-321-7488.
