Public ceremony commemorating restoration of US Colored Troops Memorial takes place on Veterans Day

FORT MYERS, FL (Nov. 9, 2018) – The community is invited to join the Lee County NAACP and 192nd American Legion Post to commemorate the recent restoration of the United States Colored Troops Memorial. The event will take place on Veterans Day, Monday, November 12 at 10:00 a.m. in Centennial Park, located at 2000 West First Street, Fort Myers.

The ceremony will also mark the 20-year anniversary since the memorial was originally dedicated and unveiled on Veterans Day in 1998.
