S.T.A.R.S. lights up with September programs

FORT MYERS, FL (Aug. 31, 2018) – The Dr. Ann Murphy Knight S.T.A.R.S. program has announced updates and plans for fall programming.

Upcoming Events

On Labor Day, September 3, there will be an End of Summer pool party. The Community Forum will host a hurricane seminar at S.T.A.R.S. on September 19. Registration for Junior NBA begins on October 1. Finally, a fun and festive fall festival takes place on October 25.

Before and after school program

Registration for S.T.A.R.S. before and after school program is still open for students six and seven years of age, and 10 through 14 years of age. The eight and nine-year-old group is full.

Currently, there are 156 students registered for the after school program, and 35 students in the before school program.

The before school program is open to all south zone middle schools (grades 6-8). The after school program is available for all students ages 6-14, with bus transportation provided by the Lee County School district to S.T.A.R.S.

The before school program is free, but the student must be registered. Registration is $50 per semester for the after school program which includes homework assistance, performing arts program, and a daily snack.
