FORT MYERS, FL (Jan. 30, 2019) – Aspiring entrepreneurs can learn startup best practices, create go-to-market plans and interact with mentors and investors at the Southwest Florida Enterprise Center’s 9-week startup accelerator program beginning Wednesday, January 30 at SWFLEC’s headquarters, 3903 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Fort Myers. The curriculum features Kauffman Fast Trac augmented by custom content and one-on-one coaching sessions. The facilitators are Mike O’Donnell, serial entrepreneur and angel investor, and Mike Love, Director, SWFLEC. In addition, the program features talks by local entrepreneurs who have recently raised capital and launched a new business.
Program sessions are every Wednesday in February and March, with the exception of the investor pitch night taking place on Tuesday, March 26 at the Riverside Community Center, located at 3061 East Riverside Drive, Fort Myers. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded to the winning participant based on scoring for the written plan and the investor pitch.
The participation cost is $50 per session for each of the eight sessions, or $350 for all eight sessions in advance. Participants must attend at least six sessions to be eligible to pitch at the final session and win prizes. Supporting sponsors of the program are the Small Business Development Center at FGCU, Master Networks of SW Florida, SWFL MicroEnterprise Program, SWFL Coders, StartupBiz.com and Millennial Brewing Company.
Session 1 on January 30 is SOLD OUT, but the program is taking reservations for Sessions 2-9.
