FORT MYERS, FL (Sept. 5, 2018) – Fort Myers Fire Department Chief John Caufield has received his Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Chief Caufield is one of only 1,306 CFO designees worldwide. The voluntary program is designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence in seven measured components including experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association membership, community involvement and technical competence.
Achieving the designation signifies an individual’s broad professional accomplishments in fire and emergency services and recognizes lifelong achievement. “I commend Chief Caufield’s dedication to public service and commitment to continuous professional development,” said Saeed Kazemi, P.E., City Manager.
The Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) is an international technical organization that works with the most progressive fire and emergency service agencies and most active fire professionals.
