S.T.A.R.S. happenings in August: back to school events and programming

STARS Complex

FORT MYERS, FL (Aug. 6, 2018) – On Saturday, August 4, the Dr. Ann Murphy Knight S.T.A.R.S. program hosted a Back to School event in conjunction with Kids Way Corp and VL Productions that drew more than 1,000 children. Activities included a school supply and uniform giveaway, Cheer Camp and Basketball Camp and a pool party.

Before and after school program registration ongoing

STARS offers a before school program for all south zone middle schools (grades 6-8) beginning Monday, August 13 at 7:30 a.m. In addition, an after school program is available for all students ages 6-14, with bus transportation provided by the Lee County School District to STARS.

Students must be registered to attend before or after school programs. The before school program is free, but the student must be registered. Onsite registration at STARS will be available August 11 and August 12 from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Registration is $50.00 per semester for the after school program. The program includes homework assistance, performing arts program and a daily snack.

STARS building and pool closed for maintenance August 6-10

The STARS building and Loreen P. Hughes Pool will be closed to the public August 6 through August 10 for maintenance.
