McCollum Hall Redevelopment Associates/REVA Development Corporation have presented their vision for the historic landmark’s new use and design finishes that highlight McCollum Hall’s historic character.
The first floor will feature a food hall with variety of internationally-inspired artisanal food hubs, a popular new dining concept that will be the first of its kind in Fort Myers. The second floor event center, located in the former dance hall space, will be an elegant community gathering space working in tandem with the restaurants below.
Design finishes will introduce a modernized art deco style, reflecting the year 1938 when McCollum Hall was built. Geometric-patterned wall papers, light fixtures, wall sconces, window treatments, and oak flooring will allude to the building’s architectural era while blending with modern sensibilities.
The developer has met a number of its benchmarks for the rehabilitation project, including providing construction drawings and a building permit letter of intent. In May, the BOC approved an extension of some of the project schedule and performance schedule dates as requested by the developer as part of their presentation.
