FMFD crew deployed to Palm Beach County with Engine Strike Team 1603

FORT MYERS, FL (Sept. 3, 2019) – City of Fort Myers’ Engine 14, staffed with four FMFD firefighters, joined Engine Strike Team 1603 from Lee County, deploying to Palm Beach County yesterday in preparation for potential Hurricane Dorian effects on Florida’s east coast. Captain Mike Deke, Engineer Joe Lefebre, Firefighter Yunel Perez-Mazola and Firefighter Mike Szabo are staging at Florida International University along with other state assets. Chief of Operations James Hayden, Strike Team Leader, is also part of the deployment.
