West End at City Walk, the apartment component of West First Street’s City Walk project, is expected to begin construction in mid-August 2019.
The plans for the 318-unit apartment building are finished and are currently in the permit approval process for both the site and the building. Approvals are expected within the next two weeks, after which the required construction fence and liner will be put in place.
Building will begin on the apartment and the common area, including the entrance, park area, all roads going into the apartments, general parking as well as the parking garage, and the apartments. The apartment complex is scheduled for completion in 24 months, by August 2021.
The developer for West End at City Walk is Catalyst Asset Management, led by Joe Bonora, President. PDS Architecture is the architectural firm, and Brooks and Freund is the construction company.
City Walk is a new mixed-use project that will feature 318-residential rental apartments, a hotel, and retail/commercial space. It will be located west of Downtown Publix. In July 201ó, the CRA Board approved a tax rebate not to exceed $5.5 million over a 10-year period for this project.
