Recycling, Solid Waste & Horticulture Collection
The City of Fort Myers Solid Waste Division is responsible for the overall collection of the city’s Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) better known as trash and garbage.

The Solid Waste Division collects and transports for disposal once a week all municipal solid waste, single-stream recycling and horticulture to the Lee County Resource Recovery Facility located at:
10500 Buckingham Road
Fort Myers, FL 33901

Residential Garbage Collection
Additional garbage cans will add over $7 to your monthly bill. To avoid this cost, you can use this opportunity to recycle more and throw away less. Call the City of Fort Myers Solid Waste Division at 239-321-8100 to request your choice of a free 18-gallon recycle bin or a free 65-gallon recycle container on wheels.

Commercial Garbage Collection
Commercial customers who normally fill more than 1 90-gallon container can subscribe to a small dumpster or a 2nd 90-gallon garbage can. Please contact the solid waste offices to determine the proper level of service required.
