The Fort Myers Fire Department protects an area of 49.9 square miles, which includes 10 square miles of the Caloosahatchee Waterway. The department provides suppression, advanced emergency medical services, and is the county response hazardous materials team, and marine emergency response.
First established in Fort Myers in 1885. Over the past 130+ years, the department has experienced an evolution in technology, training, vehicles and community engagement – moving forward every day to do their best to protect and serve the community.
