As the City Clerk, our key responsibilities encompass:

  • Acting as the qualifying officer for municipal elections, ensuring the democratic process proceeds smoothly.
  • Administering oaths and affirmations, reinforcing the integrity of official actions and declarations.
  • Processing applications for Boards and Committees, facilitating civic engagement and citizen involvement.
  • Attesting official documents, certifying the authenticity of important records and transactions.
  • Overseeing the city's records management program, which includes maintaining a formal system and preserving historical records for future generations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of official documents that are essential to the functioning of our local government.
  • Maintaining comprehensive cemetery records and oversees the upkeep of cemetery property in conjunction with Parks & Recreation.
  • Recording and preserving the minutes of the City Council, as well as those of the Citizens Police Review Board, Economic Development Advisory Board, Environmental Advisory Board, Audit Committee, and Nuisance Abatement Board.
  • Handling research requests for public records from citizens, council members, and city staff.
  • Supervising the sale of cemetery plots, ensuring this process is conducted with care and respect for those we serve.
