An accomplished Civil Engineer with a passion for urban planning and development, Saeed Kazemi, P.E., leads the City of Fort Myers with a strong vision for the future and the management acumen to bring projects to completion.
With Fort Myers ranked as one of the fastest growing regions in the state of Florida, Kazemi is preparing the city for the future by making infrastructure and redevelopment investments to ensure best of class municipal services for residents, tourists, business owners and developers bringing private investment and jobs into the area. Additionally, Kazemi is focused on environmental stewardship of the city, initiating the first nutrient credit project in Southwest Florida to gain an environmental resource permit from the South Florida Water Management District.
A Lee County resident for more than three decades, Kazemi is an ardent supporter of the arts and culture amenities that give Fort Myers a sense of community and shared history. Kazemi is a champion of city parks and walkable, bike-friendly streets and paths, providing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
As the City Manager, Kazemi carries out the day-to-day operations of the city and implements policies at the direction of the Mayor and City Council. Kazemi administers the city’s nearly $400 million annual budget including all city departments and 1,100 employees.
