The Information Technology Services Department provides a variety of services relating to computer and telecommunications services, application software development & support, graphic design & production services, and software training to all internal city clients and departments. These services encompass personal computers, workstations, networks, POS facilities, printers, servers, a government access channel, electronic signs and more.

Mission Statement: To support City operations through providing integrated, user-friendly, and modern Information Technology with a high level of customer support and training.

Department Structure

System & Network Support:
Development and maintenance of the City´s core communication infrastructure including the local and wide area network. Maintain file and application servers and network security. Perform asset management, software distribution, and technical support for hardware and software.

Development:
Provides design, development, implementation and continued support of specialized applications, data, and databases citywide.

Training:
Our ‘help desk´ and software training program help ensure levels of competencies are maintained and our clients fully utilize the technology available to them, which provides our citizens with more efficient and cost-effective results.

Graphics:
In-house graphic specialists offer to assist any City agency or department in design and/or production of internal and external marketing pieces ranging from billboards to invitations and brochures to newsletters.

Copy Center:
A full service copy center provides City agencies and departments with a wide range of services including high-volume reproduction, cutting, binding, and mounting of most any type of document.

Web Development:
The ITS Department develops, implements and maintains the City´s Internet and Intranet services.

Public Communications:
Includes the management of the City´s Government Access Channel. The ITS Department supervises the content and programming to provide a continual communication service to our citizens.

Information systems technology changes rapidly and new systems and technology are continually being implemented and installed. The ITS Department strives to translate this technology into higher productivity for our agencies and departments, and higher quality output and reduced costs of operations that ultimately benefits the citizens of Fort Myers.
