The City of Fort Myers is pursuing Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 (NSP3) Substantial Amendment No. 1 to the 2010 Action Plan of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The Substantial Amendment provides the method of distribution for the $1.5 million of NSP funding for emergency assistant to address foreclosed, vacant and abandoned residential properties. Funds will be targeted to those residential areas of the City with the most severe neighborhood problems associated with the foreclosure crisis.
NSP 3 Target Area Map
NSP3 funds are authorized under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank) of 2010. The Act provides $970 million in new NSP funds to state and local governments to continue to assist in the redevelopment of abandon and foreclosed homes.
The 15-day public comment period on the draft Substantial Amendment begins January 19, 2011. Written, faxed, or email comments to the draft Amendment must be received by February 2, 2011.
