You may discover an employment opportunity is available which matches your talents and interests. Additionally, the City provides to its full-time employees a benefits package to include health, dental, life and disability insurance, a pension plan, a deferred compensation plan as well as paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Part time employees enjoy benefits too.

VOLUNTEERS

The Recreation Division hosts many activities and events throughout the year for which we rely on volunteers. Some examples are:

  • Coaching youth athletic teams
  • Tutor/mentoring programs
  • Caloosahatchee Celtic Festival
  • Spring Egg Hunt
  • Memorial Day 5K Run

One Recreation Fun Pass, good for a 10% discount towards one full session of any participating recreational class/program or one participating special event, may be obtained by an individual for each eight (8) hours volunteered at a Recreation Facility or event which furthers the goals of the community Recreation program of the city.  Pre approval by the Manager of the Recreation Division is required.  Four Recreation Fun Passes can be exchanged for one 2-week visitor pass to the Fort Myers Aquatic Center, Golfview Pool or STARS Complex Pool.  Volunteer hours accumulated and Recreation Fun Passes are non transferable.
