Development Services

Mission Statement: To maintain the City’s superior quality of life by ensuring quality development through compliance with the city’s zoning regulations and processes; utilizing consistent zoning code interpretations; initiating the development of appropriate and timely innovative zoning regulations as needed; assuring legitimate business operations through compliance with the city’s occupational licensing program.

Current Planning:

Responsible for the coordination and review of all special land use applications including Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), Conditional Uses, Subdivision Plats, Vacations of Rights-of-Way, Easements, Alleys or Plats and Variance Requests. Current Planning also includes preparing and maintaining the development standards contained in a unified code, known as the Land Development Code. Planning Board website.

Zoning:

Responsible for interpreting and enforcing the development standards contained in the Land Development Code. Reviews all occupational licenses for zoning compliance, and administers the addressing program for the city. Conducts site plan review of building permits for zoning compliance and conducts site inspections for compliance with zoning requirements.
