Arts & Culture Grants

“The City of Fort Myers recognizes the importance of the arts to the cultural, educational, and economic well being of its diverse population. In order to enhance access by all its residents to a full range of cultural experiences, the City of Fort Myers will provide funding for arts and cultural projects and programs. I have appointed leaders within the related community to a Public Art Committee. Their goal will be to encourage artistic quality and program innovation therefore promoting economic development and tourism in the City of Fort Myers. This Committee has already shown their enthusiasm and proven its ability to work together by creating a wonderful grant and review process which arts & culture organizations and artists can apply for funding. I encourage any organization or person eligible to seek this grant to request an application from my office.”

~Mayor Jim Humphrey

Funding for each arts & culture grant is up to $10,000 for organizations and up to $3,000 for individual artists. The City's Public Art Committee would like to see granted funds matched by the grant recipients, generally with funds from earned income, foundations, individual and corporate contributions, government agencies, and other organizations. These matching funds can include in-kind goods and services as well as volunteer and professional time as a part of the cash match.
