Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, position is responsible for the maintenance of the entire city fleet, including small equipment. This covers vehicles such as police cruisers up to and including heavy construction equipment. This also includes preventative and corrective maintenance, which may involve troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems. Requires a H. S. diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in the automotive repair trade; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess four ASE’s and a valid Florida Driver’s License with a CDL class B with air brake endorsement with an acceptable driving record.
