FORT MYERS, FL (September 21, 2017) – The City of Fort Myers is providing relief to residents that have been unable to wash their laundry because of power outages caused by Hurricane Irma. On Thursday, Sept. 21, citizens will be able to wash and dry up to three loads of laundry free of charge from noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Wash House Laundromat in Fort Myers. The Wash House is located at 691 Van Buren St., near Palm Beach Blvd.
Residents must bring their own laundry care products (detergent, dryer sheets, etc.), and are asked not to arrive before 11:30 a.m. The last wash will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Citizens may also wash and dry up to three loads of laundry at two K & M Wash House laundromats from noon until 8:00 p.m. Thursday. The K & M Wash Houses are located at 2829 S. Cleveland Ave. and 2451 Hanson St. Residents are strongly encouraged to preregister by calling 239-321-7445 to reserve a time slot for laundry at K & M Wash House.
As our community continues to recover from Hurricane Irma, residents seeking information about shelters, recovery efforts, and well-being checks can call the 2-1-1 Help Line by dialing 2-1-1 or 239-433-3900. The 2-1-1 Help Line is operational from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Residents are asked to reserve use of 9-1-1 for life safety emergencies only.
