Councilwoman Terolyn Watson Requests Panel, Seeks Answers to the Freeh Report, and Wear Orange Day

Fort Myers, FL (April 14, 2017): Fort Myers City Councilwoman Terolyn Watson will ask for a roll call vote, while seeking approval to reform the Citizens Police Board into the Civilian Investigative Panel. She will also request an update on the recommendations from the Freeh Report. Per an article published by Wink News on March 22, 2017, “One month after the release of a scathing audit alleging corruption, inefficiency and other challenges within the Fort Myers Police Department, the agency has fully executed only one of the report’s 12 immediate recommendations.” She further seeks to bring awareness to National Gun Violence by discussing Wear Orange Day (June 2). The councilwoman plans to bring her requests to City Council at the April 17, 2017 meeting.

Councilwoman Watson represents Ward 3 in the City of Fort Myers.

Fort Myers City Council meets regularly on the first and third Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. unless scheduled otherwise. Meetings are held at Fort Myers City Hall, 2200 Second Street.
