Real Time Aerial Videography Offers Birds Eye View of the City of Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2017) – For the first time, a combination of drone technology and social media will provide the world with a bird’s eye view of the scope and beauty of the City of Fort Myers – real time aerial videography will reveal the city from 10 feet to 300 feet in the air in a split second.

All someone has to do is “LIKE” the City of Fort Myers Facebook page ( to see the live shots starting on Jan. 17, and to be notified when live action shots are being broadcasted worldwide. The Facebook live videos will reveal the diverse nature of the City's landscape and architecture: Urban, contemporary, historic, tropical and more.

Main Sail Video Productions will use the newest, safest methods of licensed drone technology to capture never before seen views of the City of Palms, offering a glimpse of the community known for being authentic, diverse, welcoming and historically significant.

“We’re proud of our City and look forward to sharing these images,” said the City’s Mayor Randall P. Henderson, Jr. “Residents will enjoy seeing their hometown in the spotlight, and those up north dealing with winter cold may consider coming down here to vacation or to live when they see our blue skies, bright sunshine and sparkling water views.”

Facebook visitors are encouraged to view, like and share the video clips. Viewers who “like” one or more of the aerial video tours in the two-month long series will be eligible for a prize giveaway.
