The City of Fort Myers Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. This posting will close on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

It is important that your application must provide clear and detailed information on your relevant education, training, work experience and history. Do not state "see resume" in any section of your application. Use the application to provide details of your work experience, education, certifications, licenses, and any other information that demonstrates your strengths and qualifications for the position. Please be sure to include all contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) on previous employers and references.  A resume will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application. Applicants will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment, along with a pre-employment physical.  In addition, applicants will be required to sign an affidavit attesting that they have been non-users of all types of tobacco and tobacco-like products, including smoked and smoke-less tobacco, other smokeable products, and electronic cigarettes for at least one (1) year immediately preceding employment.  Once hired, all employees must remain non-users of all types of tobacco and tobacco-like products, including smoked and smoke-less tobacco, other smokeable products, and electronic cigarettes, while on or off duty, for the duration of their employment with the City of Fort Myers Fire Department.
